If you are a lady in business and not able to network at a breakfast meeting due to minding children OR - working on your own and too busy to get to lunches OR - too tired in the evening to go marketing your business OR just want to get some ideas about running a business > Read on!
Mary Flavelle partners Sharon Connelly - founder of Ladies Who Latte - like most successful ideas it is a very simple one. It has taken just one year to increase numbers to over 600 ladies who attend on a regular basis - we have never advertised our business and word of mouth is stretching far and wide. At present we are operating in 19 areas along the M4 corridor, but already been approached to start new groups extending from West of London to Exeter, North towards Milton Keynes and South as far as Portsmouth.
No one competes with what we have to offer - we are child friendly - bring your children if you need to - we are local - we meet at a friendly hour usually 10am in the morning and above all else - we are free. There is never a problem finding a lady to be a Latte Leader, input from the leader is minimal, they just need to collect the names of all attending and email it back after the meeting. They are also required to be there a little bit earlier to welcome those attending.
Our business is supporting women who would like to start their own business -no matter how small, and offer friendship, advice, contacts and business leads. People do business with people they know and women are such great communicators - there is no problem getting down to business as soon as you arrive and meet all others in the group. You can chose to have a 'round the table' chat and introduce yourself to everyone attending, or just move around groups which seem to form naturally. Our venues range from coffee bars in Sainsbury's - where you can do some shopping if you chose - to hotels and restaurants. We have been welcome everywhere, after all we are bringing business into some places at a very quiet time of day. All the ladies have to do when they turn up - is purchase their own coffee and join in, it is as simple as that.
We are women with imagination, drive, enthusiasm and hope.
